In my journey of self discovery I have noticed how much my past can interfere with my experience of the present moment. After many hours of meditation and mindfulness training, I understand that we are only ever in the present moment yet we are clouded with thoughts and inner chatter that keeps pulling us away from being in that moment.
This is part of our human experience and I understand that it is part of us and we can't alleviate the thoughts. So how then can we be in the present moment. It's trying to create a space between ourselves and our thoughts. Mindfulness I have found to be a useful tool. Today there are many mindfulness apps available. I am planning to add a resources page to my website to share some I have used and found useful. You tube is a great resource tool.
As with the past we spend a lot of time planning our future, which in itself can serve us as it gives us a direction and goals to work towards. The difficult arrives when we cling to outcomes. When those outcomes are not as we desire or not as quick as we would like it can create negative pathways in our subconscious brain. Creating beliefs that we may as well give up on what ever our desire was. We beat ourselves up and say to ourselves we have failed.
A powerful wisdom is the art of acceptance. To accept things or experiences as they are. To not fight what is and accept it. It is not your fault and it isn't what you have done. I let you into a secret we have no control on what happens. That is our biggest illusion. It's a lie we tell ourselves. It is what keeps us stuck from finding out our true purpose.
I'll finish this blog post with another wisdom. Each of us are made up of 3 parts. Body, Mind and soul (or spirit). When we manage to get those in alignment we live the best version of ourselves. This can be achieved by anyone. It takes a shift of perspective and we are all on a different journey, however if you read this article to the end you have already made the first step. Go and seek knowledge. The internet, the library, podcasts, films. When we read between the lines and listen to our own heart and try and filter out the thoughts and conditioning we find our true selves. May you find peace and harmony in your life
I am grateful for your support and please do share with someone who you believe may benefit from these wisdoms.
